According to the Rig Veda, Rudra, the earliest name for Lord Shiva in the ancient scriptures, is known as the one who eradicates misery “Rukha Dravyati Iti Rudra” and transforms tears of sorrow into tears of joy, as represented by the Rudraksha beads. Wearing these beads has deep spiritual significance, as it connects the wearer to Lord Shiva’s compassionate consciousness.

All vedas conclude that Rudraksha is a gift to mankind from Lord Shiva, and contains divine knowledge and energies capable of uplifting mankind materially, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. It is believed that the Rudraksha seed contains the secrets of the entire evolution of the universe.
